Jason's priorities are non-negotiable take care of his sister; keep a roof over their heads; go back to school eventually. Can one club owner make it easier to uphold his priorities and maybe add him to the list?

Jason Monroe had to leave school to be the guardian of his sister Kitty when his dad and step-mom die in a car crash. He's working two jobs to keep them afloat, but their boat is leaking much like the roof of their old house. Jason doesn't have time for love that is until Zach Montgomery, the owner of the Sunset Club, the premier gay club on the Jersey Shore comes calling.

As another reviewer pointed out, nobody talks like this in real life and nobody acts like this in real life. A former football player with a bum knee who owns a gay bar and is getting a doctorate in psychology? Then decides to spend a lot of his free time with his cute new bartender and his little sister, for months, without any tension, sexual or otherwise being demonstrated? No drama, no surprising plot twists, everything is just laid out in conversation or in the minds of the characters. Time passes because we're told it has at the beginning of sections, not chapters. The story could have been told so much better, and in this particular trope it has been, many times. I know this author has written a few books, so the process can't be all that new for her, but this is really cheating readers out of a good read. Everything that should have been shown was told. The sex was like a lot of other sex in books these days--stimulation, lubrication, begging, screaming, tab a goes into tab b and then exhaustion and mutual admiration. Where's the excitement of new love? The romance? The bad guys? Even the fly in the ointment seemed to be missing. Subtlety? Irony? All missing. "Sandy" is mentioned a lot, and because it was New Jersey, I understood it was the recent devastating hurricane, but what about readers who don't know or don't remember? I don't like to denigrate authors because they work hard and a lot of sweat and toil goes into books, but this one was so disappointing. And I read it til the bitter end.

You In My Arms The Sunset Club Book 1 edition by AC Katt Romance eBooks Reviews

Was ok with it until the moron republican bit. Get your stupid politics out of a romance story. Sick of authors who shove it down readers throats. Too bad. I really liked Jason and Zach. Have some respect for readers who don't share your political beliefs! Staying clear of THIS author.
I thought at first a good edit could help this book; but no, that won't help. The book contains the worst dialogue I've ever read. No one talks in long winding sentences that read like an endorsement for environmental protection. I can tell the author is interested in climate change, likes cats and loves to cook. The author's voice is all over the story. And why is it necessary to tell all, all the time? Immediately upon being introduced, everyone spills their life story without any hesitation or reservation. It's simply ridiculous. I could not finish. Gave up in frustration. Save yourself the headache.
Another great start to a series by this Author. There was some crossover with characters from the Indiscreet series. In this story Zach and Jason are perfect for each other. Jason is young, but the sole provider for his baby sister. He meets Zach at the club his friends take him to for his birthday. Zach doesn't do relationships but something about Jason pulls at him and they become friends, which then turns to love. Well written storyline, characters we will come to love...I really enjoy this Author's writing style.
Awesome story, first in the series! I can't wait to start the next one! A+++ story, awesome happily ever after ending!
After reading this book I can already say who the sequel will be about. I like those two men and look forward to seeing their story in The Sunset Club Book 2. I noticed on a couple sites that several people did not like this book at all. I'm glad I didn't look at any of those reviews prior to reading this book and allow them to discourage me, though they make some valid points, none of them detracted from my enjoyment of the story.

I actually enjoyed it very much. I didn't take this story seriously so when all the coincidences and great things started to happen to Zach I just went with the story. Of course things were often improbable, but this was a gay romance and with any romance you are anticipating a sort of fairy tale quality of events. The two men were typical romantic idealised characters the big handsome millionaire entrepreneur (Jason) generously giving the younger smaller very hard working pretty virgin a chance to live a better quality of life. Initially to get into his pants then for a lot more altruistic reasons once Jason realizes what a great guy Zach truly was. From that point on he goes out of his way to help Zach, which of course leads to them falling in love.

If it weren't for his great straight friends (former soccer team mates) making special arrangements for him to go to the premier gay club in their area, Zach never would have met the egotistical Jason. Zach is living an impossible life full of sacrifices for his father and stepmother, including taking custody of his four year-old half sister when their parents are killed in a car accident. A huge money pit of a house sucks up every spare cent Zach can make working his two jobs. His sister Kitty is a handful. She suffers from separation anxiety following her parents death. The 22 year old is completely overwhelmed despite the help he's been offered so far. Help that he won't take as long as his baby sister doesn't suffer.

Jason believes this martyr is too good to be true and goes about providing his premise. Unfortunately Zach is completely committed to living a life that would have made a lesser man run screaming a long time ago. It isn't until Jason bulldozes his way into Zach and Kitty's life that he finally realizes how much he has missed out on. While others respected his boundaries when Zach said no, Jason just took charge and never paid attention to Zach's saying no. He got on Zach's nerves, stirred him up, and opened up his world. All three of them benefited (including Kitty). It was so great seeing Zach blossom. It made the revelations about his life and family all the more terrible.

It's funny how everyone reacted to the news that Zach and Jason are a couple. The illusion of their perfect life is shattered. Luckily they have each other when devastating secrets finally get uncovered. But don't worry this is a HEA. I look forward to the second book in this series. I wonder if there's a plan for more and who they could possibly feature. Stay tuned.
The basis for a good story was there, however who wants to
Read a whole book about finances. It was way to wordy therefor I felt it was way overpriced and contained way to much whining and just I dont know not good
I don't know why this author feels it necessary to have the characters talk to themselves, or I guess think to themselves throughout the whole book. It is very annoying. The characters do not talk like people do in real life and they share too much too quickly. I also think it was ridiculous for them to think a four year old needs a speech therapist or psychologist just because she gets some words wrong. Maybe it's just me but I think that's pretty normal. It's too bad, this could have been a good book. If the author would quit giving us the characters every thought in italics, it would be a huge improvement.
