Deporting unruly demons back to Hell is what I do best. Demon Control Angel isn’t just my job—it’s my life. Too bad my personal matters aren’t as straightforward. The virtuous gene seems to be missing from my DNA, getting me into more trouble than I’d like to admit. To date, my biggest vice has been Simeon Keller, a half-breed demon, who managed to seduce me five years ago. I’ve avoided him ever since, but I can’t knock the bad reputation the blunder has branded on me.

Now, the threat of a demon rebellion has Angels, Inc. overwhelmed, and I’m forced to trust Simeon to help me find the fiends threatening to end Angels’ existence. Staying out of the enemy’s bed is the least of my worries as I fight to keep the earth from falling under demon rule.

Angel Vindicated Abby Angel Series Book 1 edition by Viola Estrella Paranormal Romance eBooks

I read widely in the paranormal romance genre, and I've never seen anything quite like the world Ms. Estrella built in Angel Vindicated. Of course we've all seen books featuring the battle between angels and demons, but I never imagined that war as a day job, with a relatable and yet flawed angel just trying to catch a break. Breaks are hard to come by for Abby Angel because she has a big weakness in the form of a sexy demon hybrid, Simeon Keller. To say Simeon is both off limits and on Abby's mind would be an understatement, and Abby's job as an angel requires her to do things that can only push Simeon away. How are the two of them supposed to find love, or any peace for that matter, when the obstacles between them are literally as divisive as heaven and hell.

Considering the nature of the subject matter, Abby's path to her man is surprisingly light and funny, with a hilarious supporting cast featuring all kinds of interesting sidekicks for both Abby and Simeon. This author delivered on her promise of sexy urban fantasy, and I enjoyed every minute of the romp!

Angel Vindicated Abby Angel Series Book 1 edition by Viola Estrella Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews

I received 'Angel Vindicated' as a gift from the author, and I am so happy that she chose to share this book with me. I really enjoyed how the angels were not perfectly good and struggled with their 'sinful' sides, while the demons were not all evil but struggled with that as well. And I do admit that I am a sucker for a love story where the characters shouldn't be attracted to one another but cannot deny how drawn they are to each other. I would definitely read more of Viola's writings in the future. ☺
I really loved this story about real, flawed characters even though they are angels. I especially liked the snarky attitude and humor of Abby and how she felt guilty for her thoughts. She and the half demon seemed to have a real thing going. But maybe she and her best friend do too. Will she remain an Angel or will her status change?
I received a copy from the author in exchange for my honest review. I kept picking and picking at the story so I decided to give up at 45%. I wasn't sure which genre this was when I started and like another reviewer, I thought this would veer into erotic romance, but I think urban fantasy is the best fit, because by 45% the sex was minimal and not very descriptive.

I stopped reading because the the interaction between Abigail and pretty much every other character was all teen angsty. What does Judd really think of me? He kissed me, but is he really interested? When asked Judd, an angel, lies. Yet he'll say later that Abigail should understand how he feels. Abigail is interested in Simeon (half demon, half human) and has sex with him once in the past and runs then is tongue twisted and dippy in every future encounter. Abigail trusts her boss in one thought then questions her pot head boss's ability to lead. Abigail is also insecure because of her unusual for an angel red hair and freckles (or is there something else that's really different about her?). Shouldn't angels be above this kind of thing?

About angels being above this kind of thing, OMG the angels and their lives in this story are different. That could be a good thing if you just go with it. However, the head angel is a pot head?!? Male angels, due to their forceful enforcement techniques are busted to menial/admin jobs so only female angels fight male demons?!? Angels are basically forced to live a slave like existence. As I mentioned, male angels do work most appear not to want to do and strongly resent and the angels live in a building all together. If female angels leave they essentially have to marry a human because they have no paper trail or human education. What a bleak existence.

Sometimes a reader can go with the flow and just accept the world being built and I am not against taking a character type and rewriting it, but the silly, angsty reactions more suited to teen characters than the adults these are and flip flopping statements made me give up.
I love the way the angels and demons were portrayed in this story. The characters were well written and the story kept me until the end. I would read more from this author.
It was very entertaining. I am a slow reader but seemed to get through it very quickly.
I read her first book, short story and LOVED IT. Looked forward to reading this one. I liked it but not to the extent of the first one. This story was an Angel/Demon theme but I didn't get really hooked into it. Her first book was a contemporary romance and I liked that setting for her much better. Will still read the next book when she writes another. Give this book 3 1/2 stars.
Good snarky Angel and Demon times to be had reading this fun story! A funny twist on the fight of good vrs evil full of chuckles and anxiety at times for our not so angelic angel. A good book to read when you need a lift.
